Everybody loves Sports Saturday...that's why
it's three hours long! You can catch Sports Saturday from 9am-12noon
each uhhh, Saturday here on the Buzz. David Glenn is
the authority on all things ACC.
He's the editor of the ACC Area Sports Journal (people in the know call
it "The PooP Sheet"). Every Saturday, get the low down on recruits, match
ups, and if you are lucky enough...pick up some of his suave ways with
the ladies. |

How did you become a sports fan:
Philly is a sports town to its core. In 1980, when I was 12
years old, all
four major pro teams in the city (Phillies, Flyers, Eagles,
76ers) made it
to the championship game (World Series, Stanley Cup finals,
Super Bowl,
etc.) of their respective leagues. I played and watched all
four sports.
About your job at the Buzz:
Host, Sports Saturday (9 a.m.-noon)
President (Self-Appointed), Buzz Babe Welcoming Committee
Guest, whenever one of the other hosts is really desperate
:O)
Best Buzz moment:
Every time (1) there's a comment (by host, caller or guest)
on my show that
causes people to think about an interesting topic in an
intelligent or
humorous manner, or (2) an angry, hypocritical,
ill-informed, unreasonable
caller or listener actually is forced to think for a change
because he has
just been administered the most overwhelming intellectual
beating of his
life. :O)
Favorite Sports:
College basketball and college football, of course. Also
NHL, NFL, MLB,
PGA, Wrestling (Mud).
Fav. Teams:
Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia
Phillies
Hobbies:
My Family/Kids (the best!), Watching Sports (duh), Golf (my
swing would
make your eyes hurt), Reading (newspapers, John Grisham
books, John D.
MacDonald novels, History, U.S. Supreme Court), Jimmy
Buffett Concerts (16
and counting), Beer Tasting (my dream job), Beach Trips!
Favorite moment in sports history:
1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team (Do you believe in miracles?
Yes!)
Something people don't know about you:
I've been practicing (and still practice) law in North
Carolina for more
than 10 years, mainly in the areas of Contract Law,
Wills/Estate Planning
and Constitutional Law (First Amendment).
I once sat with a stripper (sorry, exotic dancer) on press
row of a major
sporting event just to prove a point to some narrow-minded,
vindictive,
un-American, dishonest administrators.
I once received a lucrative job offer from a guy who was
starting an ACC
magazine, listened to him berate and threaten to "bury" me
(that wasn't
very nice) after I very politely turned him down, then tried
to avoid daily
"excessive celebration" penalties as he lost $15 million and
my magazine
became the most successful of its kind in the history of the
publishing
industry.
I once appeared in a film, "Summer's On The Beach," and have
served as an
"extra" (you can't really see me) for several other movies,
including the
Nick Nolte re-make of Cape Fear.
My bordering-on-unhealthy fascination with
beautiful/intelligent women
begins with someone I often mention on the air -- my wife,
the lovely and
talented Maria.
A left-handed pitcher, I played organized baseball for 18
years (5-22).
