These are OpenSource Applications that you may find interesting and helpful for your needs if you are migrating to the LinuX world. Now that you have heard on the show about Ubuntu as well, check out these sites, and feel free to email me if you are looking for a particular application. Mephis & Ubuntu have allot already within their OS's already, just take the time to explore.
Office Suites:(this by the way comes standard on Ubuntu

GIMP an equivalent of a PhotoShop Elements (correction/creative app.), and this is installed already in Ubuntu as well, once you get used to the UI (user interface) you can do some nice image manipulations.
