WRBZ 850 The Buzz

Increases Audience by 25% in Latest Arbitron Ratings;

Continues Growth in National Rankings

Raleigh, NC-  WRBZ  Sports Radio 850 The Buzz increased its weekly listener base by 25% to 70,100 in the just released Spring 2005 Arbitron ratings.  The latest audience growth now places WRBZ in the top fifteen sports stations in the country, up from number seventeen.  There are currently over five hundred radio stations in the United States programming an all-sports format.

WRBZ’s overall listener growth was fueled by audience increases in such shows as Imus In The Morning, Chris Clark, Jim Rome and Adam Gold.  In the station’s target demographic of Men 25-54, the Imus audience grew 46%, mid-day listenership (10am-3pm) grew 56%, and afternoons with Adam Gold grew 39%.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with our growth, and we are very grateful to our listeners and members of the business community who have supported us since we began in 1997,” stated WRBZ General Manager Brian Maloney.  “The Triangle is a great sports market, and there has always been a keen interest and awareness in what our radio station delivers.”
